Pfizer Boosters for Ages 12 and Over Available Now

2022-01-06: We are happy to announce that VaxTogetherAustin is now offering boosters and third doses of the Pfizer vaccine to teenagers and children, following FDA and CDC announcements.

The FDA and CDC have approved the following changes:

• Reduced the interval between the second dose and the booster dose, from 6 months to 5 months
• Authorized a booster for children over 12 years
• Authorized a third dose for children 5-11 years with certain conditions

Your child is eligible for a booster if:

• It has been at least 5 months since your child’s 2^nd dose, and
• They are over 12 years of age.

If your child has been diagnosed with certain conditions that mean they are immunocompromised, they are eligible for a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine. This is considered the third dose in the primary series, rather than a booster. The FDA and CDC have determined that a third dose will allow immunocompromised children to receive the most potential benefit from vaccination.

Your child is eligible for a third dose if:

• It has been at least 28 days since your child’s second dose, 
• They are at least  5 years of age, and
• They are immunocompromised to a moderate or severe degree.

2022-01-06: Nos complace anunciar que VaxTogetherAustin ahora ofrece refuerzos y terceras dosis de la vacuna Pfizer para adolescentes y niños, siguiendo los anuncios de la FDA y los CDC.

La FDA y los CDC han aprobado los siguientes cambios:

• Reducción del intervalo entre la segunda dosis y la dosis de refuerzo, de 6 meses a 5 meses.
• Autoriza un refuerzo para niños mayores de 12 años.
• Autoriza una tercera dosis para niños de 5 a 11 años con determinadas afecciones.
