“ACL Music Festival is pleased to support VaxTogetherAustin with a donation of 2,000 single day wristbands to ACL Music Festival,” said Emmett Beliveau, Chief Operating Officer of C3 Presents. “Vaccines are not required to attend ACL Music Festival, but we know that vaccinations are an important part of the solution to move us beyond this pandemic. Live music is all about uniting people, and we encourage everyone who can to get vaccinated to take care of themselves and one another.”
“We are excited that so many young Texans are getting vaccinated to enjoy a great Austin festival,” said Kanaka Sathasivan, MPH, board member of TogetherAustin. "We've already seen the huge impact vaccination can have on protecting health and wellbeing in the community. We will continue to be available to help provide opportunities for every Central Texan to get vaccinated."
“Our goal is to increase vaccination rates in our community, and our first event offering ACL wristbands as a vaccine incentive was very successful,” said Sharon Cohan, founder and executive director of VaxTogetherAustin. “We appreciate the generosity of ACL Music Festival, Austin FC, and Walgreens in making this event possible for a second time.”
“Soccer, at its core, is about community,” said Austin FC President Andy Loughnane. “We are proud to align with TogetherAustin and Austin City Limits Music Festival to increase vaccinations across our community by inviting eligible participants to visit Q2 Stadium for this uniquely-Austin opportunity.”
The vaccine clinic will offer Pfizer (first and second doses), Moderna (first and second doses), and the single-dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine. Third doses, or "booster shots," will not be available at this event. The Pfizer vaccine is available to everyone ages 12 and up, while the Moderna and J&J vaccines are available to everyone ages 18 and up. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Central Texans can visit VaxTogetherAustin.org to find free COVID-19 vaccines at convenient times and locations throughout Austin and Round Rock. ID and insurance are not required to receive the vaccine, and immigration status has no impact on vaccination.
